Hernon Manufacturing introduces the new R125 pressure reservoirThe Hernon R125 pressure reservoir is a durable, easy-access solution for dispensing any liquid including adhesives, solvents, lubricants, and sealants Orlando, FL September 22, 2006: To compliment its complete line of dispensing solutions, Hernon Manufacturing has developed a versatile and durable pressure reservoir specifically designed for today's production environment. The pressure reservoir is a critical component of any fluid dispensing system, therefore Hernon engineers used years of experience to create a reservoir that would meet the needs of system designers and users. The material output line is located in the center of the lid. This allows the dip tube to be centrally located so that an up to 1-gallon container can be directly placed into the reservoir. The lid design and single knob secure system permit quick changes or refills by operators and minimal clean up.
The durable polyethylene material feed tube is resistant to most chemicals including adhesives, solvents, lubricants, and sealants. The polyethylene feed tube is disposable and can be easily replaced. The airtight lid seal and meticulous construction of the reservoir body ensure there are no leak points for air or material. The material will only be in contact with the container and feed line. This allows for safe dispensing of a wide-variety of adhesives and sealants. ### Hernon Manufacturing introduces RotoCoater™ dispensing system
Versatile system for dispensing adhesive and sealant into recessed opening
Orlando, FL September 28, 2005: The Hernon RotoCoater™ is a non-contact dispensing unit designed to apply sealant or adhesive to a bore. The RotoCoater™ consists of an air motor, dispersion cup, and Hernon Sureshot™ dispensing valve. The customizable RotoCoater™ dispenser can be used as part of a stock dispensing system for a single bore application, or as part of a turn-key, complete dispensing solution to apply material to multiple bores simultaneously.
The Hernon RotoCoater™ uses a small, precision air motor to spin a dispersion cup, which is inserted into the bore. The Hernon Sureshot™ valve then delivers a metered amount of material to the cup that evenly coats the inner surface of the bore. The dispenser cup prevents overspray and applies a uniform, controlled bead of adhesive. The RotoCoater™ system allows for quick cycle times.
The RotoCoater™ can be used with a wide-range of adhesives, sealants, oil, or just about any liquid material. It can apply a controlled bead to any size or shape recess, which cannot normally be accessed by standard dispense tooling. The RotoCoater™ is user-friendly and allows easy cleanup and maintenance.
Each RotoCoater™ is assembled with the proper dispensing tube and diameter cup for each unique application. A Hernon Sureshot valve can also be utilized for precision applications. The size of the dispense bead is infinitely alterable and easy to control. Complete systems can be designed that apply sealant or adhesive to multiple bores in one cycle simultaneously.

### Hernon Introduces a New Surface Insensitive Thread Locking Adhesive
Hernon Nuts N' Bolts™ 434 Eliminates the Need for Costly Surface Preparation and Cleaning
Orlando, FL June 26, 2002: Hernon Manufacturing has released a new surface insensitive thread-locking adhesive. Nuts N' Bolts™ grade 434 can be used on a variety of substrates without the need for surface primers or other preparation. Before the release of this high performance adhesive, applications required clean surfaces that were free of any oils and dirt, and metals with low ionic activity required the use of a primer. Without these preparations, typical thread locking adhesives would cure more slowly and offer only reduced strength in comparison to application in ideal conditions.
Anaerobic thread locking adhesives depend on two mechanisms to cure - lack of oxygen and ionic activity of metal. Oil and dirt on the surface of the parts creates a film that will limit the ability of the adhesive to bond as well as cure; therefore, thorough cleaning of the parts was always necessary. In addition, the application of a primer has been required on substrates that exhibit lower ionic activity such as aluminum. Cleaning and priming parts adds considerable cost and production time to many assembly applications. New surface insensitive Nuts N' Bolts™ 434 overcomes this problem by compensating for the lowered ionic activity.
Nuts N' Bolts™ 434 is a medium strength thread locking adhesive that offers 180 inch-pounds of breakaway torque and 65 pounds of prevailing torque in tests performed according to the MIL-S-46163 military specification. Fixture strength can be achieved in just 10 minutes with full strength torque strength offered in 24 hours. Temperature resistance of cured Nuts N' Bolts™ 434 is from -65º to 300º Fahrenheit (-55º to 150º Centigrade)

Hernon Introduces New Ultraviolet Light Cure Adhesives
Ultrabond™ 782 is a flexible ultraviolet cure adhesive offering high strength - Ultrabond™ 787 fills the void in adhesives for bonding polycarbonate and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) Orlando, FL July 18, 2001: Ultraviolet cure adhesives, living on the leading edge of bonding, coating, encapsulating, and wire tacking technology, are the most exciting developments in adhesives in recent years. Hernon Manufacturing has developed two new ultraviolet cure products - Ultrabond™ 782 and 787.
Ultrabond™ 782 is a tough acrylic, tri-cure adhesive that provides a high tensile strength bond that remains flexible. The tri-cure mechanisms include not only ultraviolet light and heat but primer cure (Hernon's EF™ Activator 63) as well. This range of curing options allows Ultrabond™ 782 to be cured by an ultraviolet lamp to obtain fixture-strength in just seconds, then the areas of the assembly out-of-reach of the light source to be cured with heat. The results are faster production cycles with minimal clamping time.
Ultrabond™ 782 also offers improved bond reliability with high impact and shock resistance, good gap filling capabilities, and high temperature resistance. Based on extensive testing (ASTM D1002), Ultrabond™ 782 offers shear resistance up to 2800 psi on steel. Gap fill, the distance between the mating surfaces, can be up to 0.020" (.508 mm). The temperature resistance of the cured Ultrabond™ 782 is -40° to 400° Fahrenheit (-40° to 204° C.).
The adhesive industry has provided few options for bonding PVC (polyvinyl chloride) to polycarbonate where a flexible joint is necessary. Hernon Ultrabond™ 787 fills that void by providing an aggressive but flexible bond on PVC and polycarbonate along with many substrates including glass, many plastics, and most metals.
Ultrabond™ 787 is a single-component adhesive that uses ultraviolet light or visible light of sufficient intensity to cure. Fixture rate depends upon gap depth, light intensity, and other variables, but the amount exposure time to reach fixture strength is less than 30 seconds in most applications.

Peterbilt Approves Hernon Powerseal™ 932
Hernon's Powerseal™ 932 improves assembly process of threaded components on Peterbilt trucks Orlando, FL June 1, 2001: Peterbilt, a division of PACCAR Inc, has chosen Powerseal™ 932 and the Hernon Autosealer™ 2600 dispensing system to speed assembly and improve reliability of threaded assemblies. Peterbilt had previously utilized an anaerobic sealing compound during pre-assembly that did not offer the pliability necessary for part adjustment during final assembly. Hernon's Powerseal™ 932 offered the essential pliability while still maintaining a consistent seal in an environment that includes exposure to diesel fuel, hydraulic fluid, and motor oil.
Hernon Powerseal™ is a single component, non-hardening pipe sealant that lubricates and seals threaded pipe connections and o-rings. Powerseal™ is unaffected by water, oil, ammonia, glycerin, steam, exhaust fumes, and most hard-to-hold liquids. Its pliable feature allows Powerseal™ to withstand severe vibration while not crumbling, cracking, or shrinking. Powerseal™ is safe to use on all substrates including plastics and metals, unlike anaerobic sealants that causes stress cracking on many plastic threaded components.
To speed the assembly process and reduce sealant waste, Peterbilt is using the Autosealer™ 2600 sealant dispensing system. The Autosealer™ 2600 is a low-cost, portable, and easy-to-use system for dispensing paste sealants directly onto threaded components.
