Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Position requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemistry or a closely related field and three (3) years of supervisory and ISO-9000 coordination experience in a laboratory setting.

Position Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following

    Performs quality testing of finished products and report results in a timely manner. Test replacement or new raw materials and accept or reject based on internal results. Provide pricing and lead time, address safety and transportation concerns, evaluate if new material can replace existing one. Capable of developing new test methods and perform analysis on analytical instrumentation. To include, UV curing, Spectrophotometry, Thermal Properties and Strength testing per ASTM methods or equivalent. Prepare required test reports, as requested. Assist in establishing product specifications (TDS and SDS) as required. Assist the Development Technician, Quality technician or Quality Director as required. Have overall responsibility and authority for safety, equipment in the laboratory. Ensure compliance with ISO-9001. Develop and update Chemical Raw Material Specifications. Develop and update Standard Test Methods. Develop and update Technical Data Sheets. Develop and be capable of producing formulas for epoxies, UV Curing and other adhesives and provide specifications for Hernon Product Control Plan for new products. Serve as the company representatives to the ASTM D14 Adhesives Committee.
