Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Skills are typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of experience or equivalent industry experience in lieu of education
• Proven managerial experience is a bonus
• Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems
• Understanding of principles of accounting and finance
• Extensive ERP experience, SAP preferred
• Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills
• Analytical mind with excellent problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage the logistics of all aspects of the supply chain, from the purchase or product development to the shipment of finished items
• Must be able to comprehend legal documents
• Strong communication skills and the desire to build lasting relationships with people all over the world
• Strong attention to detail

    Position Summary

    Under broad direction, leads a group of Procurement, Planning, and Logistics professionals and plans sourcing to support manufacturing and warehouse operation’s or project management’s strategic plans. Job role has budgetary type of accountabilities or directly impacts a revenue center’s viability or its quality of service via personal contributions. PP&L Managers impact their companies by lending their expertise to developing strategies to increase safety, efficiency, and productivity. Procurement, Planning, and Logistics Managers must be able to generate reports, analyze data and processes, present findings to upper management, find creative solutions, collaborate with other departments, communicate with suppliers, comprehend legal documents, and develop lasting relationships. It’s a must to be a proactive problem solver with a desire to collaborate with others.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following

      • Direct oversight of inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials storage
      • Directs production planning and scheduling based on sales forecasts, overseeing S&OP cycle reviews
      • Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines
      • Maintains and ensures accuracy of the inventory system
      • Oversees shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods
      • Identifies opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges.
      • Manages and monitors storage of purchased parts and finished goods
      • Establishes procedures for conducting and valuing year-end physical inventory
      • Manage the distribution of supplies in the organization
      • Monitor inventory levels and access to the material
      • Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions
      • Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, sales forecast, delivery systems, and other variables
      • Prepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reports
      • Directs the creation of a request for quotations (RFQ) and competitive biddings from various suppliers to obtain the best quality, delivery, and price for goods and services
      • Responsible for approving the selection and qualification of suppliers, negotiating with suppliers, and implementing agreements for local procurement of goods and services
      • Develops strategies to improve supplier performance
      • Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to help management understand the PP&L perspective
      • Build relationships within the company and with external parties, such as suppliers and distributors
      • Research potential vendors and negotiate prices Read and comprehend legal documents, such as contracts or import/export agreements
      • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies
      • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve the effect
      • Collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds to identify problems and find solutions
      • Develop, Monitor, and report on performance KPI’s for Planning, Inventory control, Shipping/Transportation, and Purchasing processes
      • Develop and implement instructions, policies, and procedures for the department.
      • Collaborate with management to plan forecasting models
      • Oversee and support subordinates and new employees
      • Design and maintain department budgets
