Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Job Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• 5 years of experience in a professional engineering position
• Proficiency with Solidworks CAD, sheet metal, weldment, PDM, and MS office

Preferred / Valued
• Knowledge and experience with automation, and or machine design
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes like milling, turning, welding
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
• Knowledge of electrical systems components, sensors, controls
• Knowledge of PLC / HMI programming

    Position Summary

    Design and optimize custom-built machines used for dispensing and curing adhesives and sealants for various industries like automotive, electronics, and ammunition.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following

      • Design, develop and optimize custom build machines using CAD (Solidworks)
      • Consult with engineering and manufacturing teammates to ensure that designs are feasible
      • Develop and build prototypes and run tests to measure their level of function
      • Develop manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, computer-generated reports like cut list, BOM
      • Research and develop customer design proposals, specifications, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
      • Specify system components and design tooling and mechanisms for custom build machines to ensure conformation with engineering design and performance specification
      • Coordinate with fabrication/manufacturing team during product manufacturing, advising them on design specifications and providing physical assistance when required
      • Support and follow system environment protocols in place to help manage CAD data and engineering documentation using Solidworks PDM
