Formulations

Primer 57 is a single component, solvent-free, reactive monomer-based product designed to promote the cure speed of Hernon® anaerobic adhesives and sealants. Primer 57 is used where increased cure speed of Hernon® anaerobic products is required, and for difficult to bond applications where galvanized steel or zinc electroplated surfaces are involved. This product was specially formulated for increasing bond integrity on dichromated surfaces.

Accelerator 58 is a single component non-CFC solvent-based product, formulated to provide a faster cure on acidic surfaces and cure excess Instantbond? cyanoacrylate adhesive outside the bond line. Accelerator 58 is used to increase the cure speed of Hernon® Instantbond® Adhesives. It is especially suited for post application on exposed Instantbond® adhesive outside of the bond line. Loudspeaker assembly and bonding jewelry are two examples.

Porosity Sealant (HPS) 59801 is a low viscosity liquid sealant designed for sealing interfacial leak paths in flexible electronic assemblies. It may also be used to enhance dielectric strength or seal porosity in passive materials. The dual-cure system incorporated in HPS 59801 offers the advantage of elevated temperature curing or curing at room temperature. HPS 59801 is typically applied with a vacuum impregnation process that removes air from the internal void and then saturates the part with liquid sealant. In the absence of circulating air, the liquid rapidly polymerizes to form a tough, flexible, thermoset polymer that permanently seals gaps in the assembly. Excess liquid sealant is rinsed from the outside of the part with an aqueous solution effectively leaving no surface build up. Parts processed with HPS 59801 are sealed internally but remain cosmetically and dimensionally unchanged. Typical applications include sealing or unitizing over-molded electrical components against leakage of air, water, coolants, oils and other fluids. As a good insulator, HPS 59801 may also be used to improve the dielectric strength across gaps between high voltage conductors.

SelfSealer® 604 is a tough, pre-applied, non-hardening threaded sealant. When dried, it becomes a resilient, tight clinging, non-curing sealant for tapered or straight threads. It provides an instant seal on different pipe threads and can be used up to eight (8) times without recoating. SelfSealer® 604 is water based, non-toxic, safe and can be applied easily without special handling precautions. It provides resistance to vibrational loosening because of its prevailing torque characteristics. Therefore, it is very effective on non-locking applications.

Cleaner 62 is a non-aqueous, hydrocarbon based, non-CFC industrial solvent which removes oil and grease completely. This cleaning solvent prepares the surface for bonding with Hernon® Adhesives and Sealants. Cleaner 62 is recommended for final cleaning prior to assembling parts with Hernon® Adhesives and Sealants. It is not recommended for cleaning (flushing) equipment or for cleaning printed circuit boards and printed circuit assemblies.

Activator 63 is a solvent-based product, specially formulated to promote the cure of Hernon Adhesives.

Bullet Proof 650 is an environmentally friendly, single component, room temperature cure sealant and coating material. Bullet Proof 650 is formulated to waterproof and seal the interface between a bullet and cartridge. Bullet Proof 650 coats the inside of large shells to prevent the corrosive attack by the cartridge on the ignition powder.

Tuffbond® 65891 is a two-component, room temperature cure system. Tuffbond® 65891 is recommended for bonding metal, glass, wood, concrete, and rubber, and can be used for potting and encapsulation of electrical and electronic components.

HASA 66071 is a single component structural anaerobic adhesive formulated for bonding rigid assemblies at high temperatures. HASA 66071 cures when it is confined between mating surfaces. Hernon® Primer 50 accelerates the cure.

Supertacker® 67662 is a single component, high performance elastomeric adhesive that exhibits exceptional bonding characteristics to a broad range of materials including metals, glass, plastic composites, rubber, leather, wood and vinyl. Supertacker® 67662 provides a tough, waterproof bond that won’t crack or become brittle.

UV FOG (Form on Gasket) 68221 is an EB/UV curable product that provides excellent adhesion to shaft seals, oil seals, metals, glass, ceramics and plastics. Can be used as a Form-in-place gasket in oil and coolant systems. Typical applications include Engine covers, Oil pans and other fluid seal systems.

UV FOG (Form on Gasket) 702 is an EB/UV curable product that provides excellent adhesion to shaft seals, oil seals, metals, glass, ceramics and plastics. Can be used as a Form-in-place gasket in oil and coolant systems. Typical applications include Engine covers, Oil pans and other fluid seal systems.

HASA 716 is a single component structural anaerobic adhesive formulated for bonding rigid assemblies at high temperatures. This high strength acrylic adhesive cures when it is confined between mating surfaces. Utilized for bonding magnets in motor assemblies and structural applications, HASA 716 provides a strong permanent bond and is resistant to impact and vibration. Hernon Primer 50 accelerates the cure. HASA 716 is similar in function to Loctite A533 and Loctite AA332 and delivers high shear strength and tensile strength. One of its primary uses is securing permanent magnets in motor magnet bonding applications. Ultrabond® 71813 is a single component, tri-cure conformal coating formulated for bonding glass to glass or glass to metals. Ultrabond® 71813 is excellent for bonding and tacking many parts. Ultrabond® 71813 can also be cured with heat above 200°F (93°C) or Activator 56 or 59. Exposure to a high intensity UV light will cure these adhesives to a dry, hard surface.

HASA 718 is a single component structural anaerobic adhesive formulated for bonding rigid assemblies. HASA 718 cures when it is confined between mating surfaces. Hernon? Activator 56 accelerates the cure.

Ultrabond® Sealant 721 is a UV curable adhesive that can be used to seal a variety of plastics when exposed to UV light. The sealant offers a water- tight seal with excellent environmental resistance.
