Applications

Silastomer® 336 is a high performance, single component, acetoxy, ready to use silicone. It has a paste-like consistency, which cures to a tough, resilient and durable silicone rubber when exposed to moisture in the air. Since it will not flow of its own weight, Silastomer® 336 can be applied to vertical, horizontal and overhead joints without sagging or running off. It will adhere to clean metals, glass, most types of wood, silicone resin, vulcanized silicone rubber, natural and synthetic fiber, ceramic, many plastics and painted surfaces. Silastomer® 336 provides excellent resistance to moisture, weathering, vibration, ozone and extreme temperatures. It can be applied in surface temperatures of 0°F to above 120°F with no loss in performance. Fully cured Silastomer® 336 can withstand extended periods at temperatures up to 400°F.

Tuffbond® 316 is a two component, room temperature cure system. By changing the ratio of resin and hardener, the cured adhesive can change from a tough and flexible to a hard and rigid system. Tuffbond® 316 is recommended for bonding metal, glass, wood, concrete, and rubber, and can be used for potting and encapsulation of electrical and electronic components.

Fusionbond® 375 is a highly thixotropic, two component, room temperature curing, 1:1 ratio, methacrylate adhesive system. Fusionbond® 375 is formulated to provide fixturing strength within 7 to 10 minutes. This adhesive product forms resilient bonds and maintains its strength over a wide range of temperatures. Fusionbond® 375 is suitable for bonding a variety of substrates with a minimum of surface preparation. Fusionbond® 375 provides toughness at temperatures from -67 to 250°F. Recommended substrates: PVC, acrylic, ABS, stainless steel, and some types of fiberglass.

Tuffbond® 315 is a modified epoxy adhesive that provides a fast room temperature cure. Tuffbond® 315 exhibits very good moisture chemical and heat resistance. This fast cure epoxy adhesive is specially formulated for rapid in-line assembly of loudy speakers. Tuffbond® 315 is also recommended for bonding metals, wood, ceramics, etc., and can be used for potting and encapsulation of electrical and electronic components.

Dripstop® 940 is a thread sealant, which contains Teflon®, and for use on inactive metals such as stainless steel and aluminum used in chemical process piping. The properties of this Dripstop® prevents galling on Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and other metal pipe fittings. Dripstop® 940 is formulated to cure without the necessity of a primer. Dripstop® 940 has been shown to be compatible for use within diesel exhaust systems using DEF according to ISO-22241 through independent 3rd party verification. Dripstop® 940 withstands high pressures, sealing up to 250 psig steam at 400°F (204°C) continuous service while maintaining its chemical inertness. UL Classification – File MH14222 Classified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc.® for use in devices handling gasoline, petroleum oils, natural gas (pressure not to exceed 300 psig), butane and propane not exceeding 2 in. pipe size. 29R9.

Ultrabond® 740 is formulated for bonding glass to glass or glass to metals. Ultrabond® 740 is excellent for bonding tacking and potting many parts. Ultrabond® 740 provides an excellent bond, high light transmittance and a refractive index like glass. Exposure to a high intensity UV light will cure these adhesives to a dry, hard surface.

Nuts N’ Bolts® 246 is a single component anaerobic compound used to lock and seal coarse threaded nuts, bolts and studs in a wide variety of applications where removal with ordinary hand tools is necessary.

Nuts N’ Bolts® 425 is a single component anaerobic thread locking material, which is thixotropic and develops medium to high strength. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces.

Nuts N’ Bolts® 240 is a single component anaerobic compound used to lock and seal fine threaded nuts, bolts and studs in a wide variety of applications requiring easy removal or adjustment.

Nuts N’ Bolts® 237 is a single component, high strength, anaerobic compound used to lock and seal fine threaded nuts, bolts, and studs in a wide variety of applications.

Nuts N’ Bolts® 234 is a single component medium strength, anaerobic compound used to lock and seal coarse threaded nuts, bolts and studs in a wide variety of applications where removal with ordinary hand tools is necessary.

Nuts N’ Bolts® 232 is a single component medium strength, anaerobic compound used to lock and seal fine threaded nuts, bolts and studs in a wide variety of applications where removal with ordinary hand tools is necessary.

Nuts N’ Bolts® 230 is a single component medium strength, anaerobic compound used to lock and seal fine threaded nuts, bolts and studs in a wide variety of applications where removal with ordinary hand tools is necessary.

Nuts N’ Bolts® 227 is a single component, high strength, anaerobic compound used to lock and seal fine threaded nuts, bolts, and studs in a wide variety of applications.

Mine Bonder 2000 is an anaerobic adhesive sealant which cures rapidly through large gaps with Hernon Primer 50 and will also provide rapid cure and dry fillets when exposed to high intensity ultraviolet light.

Porosity Sealant (HPS) 59801 is a low viscosity liquid sealant designed for sealing interfacial leak paths in flexible electronic assemblies. It may also be used to enhance dielectric strength or seal porosity in passive materials. The dual-cure system incorporated in HPS 59801 offers the advantage of elevated temperature curing or curing at room temperature. HPS 59801 is typically applied with a vacuum impregnation process that removes air from the internal void and then saturates the part with liquid sealant. In the absence of circulating air, the liquid rapidly polymerizes to form a tough, flexible, thermoset polymer that permanently seals gaps in the assembly. Excess liquid sealant is rinsed from the outside of the part with an aqueous solution effectively leaving no surface build up. Parts processed with HPS 59801 are sealed internally but remain cosmetically and dimensionally unchanged. Typical applications include sealing or unitizing over-molded electrical components against leakage of air, water, coolants, oils and other fluids. As a good insulator, HPS 59801 may also be used to improve the dielectric strength across gaps between high voltage conductors.

Quantum® 156 is a single-component cyanoacrylate adhesive formulated for impact, thermal shock and peel resistance.

Nuts N’ Bolts® 128 is a single component, low strength thread locker designed for locking plastic and metal fasteners. Fixture time is about 5 minutes and adhesive can be pre or post applied. Any excess adhesive on the surface will cure and will not migrate to the other parts. Nuts N’ Bolts® 128 can be used as a low strength thread locker, bonder or tamper proofer for metal, polyester, nylon and many other thermo plastics materials.

Tuffbond® 305 is a modified epoxy adhesive that provides a very fast room temperature cure. Tuffbond® 305 exhibits very good moisture chemical and heat resistance. This very fast cure epoxy adhesive is specially formulated for rapid in-line assembly of loud speakers. Tuffbond® 305 is also recommended for bonding metals, wood, ceramics, etc., and can be used for potting and encapsulation of electrical and electronic components.

Instantbond® 127 is a gel consistency single component, solvent-less, room temperature adhesive that sets in seconds when confined between two surfaces. The gel consistency allows for gap filling capability and prevents migration to unwanted areas.

Instantbond® 123 is a medium viscosity, state-of-the-art, single component, solventless, room temperature curing cyanoacrylate adhesive that polymerizes rapidly when pressed into a thin film between parts. The presence of surface moisture commences the cure of the adhesive. Instantbond® 123 develops handling strength within seconds and full functional strength in a few hours. Instantbond® 123 can bond a wide variety of surfaces including metals, thermoplastics, elastomers, ceramics, leather, cork, and paper. Notwithstanding the superior bonding capability of Instantbond® 123, it is NOT recommended for long-term glass to glass bonding applications.

Nuts N’ Bolts® 431 is a wicking anaerobic used for preassembled equipment and structures where penetration into fastener connection points is required. This product allows very simple preventive maintenance by permitting thread locking without dismantling equipment. The product “wicks” into voids by capillary action. Use Nuts N’ Bolts® 431 to seal pores or pinhole porosity in welded seams, tanks, castings, or metal parts. The cured adhesive is a thermoset plastic suitable for temperatures up to 400°F (204°C), and exposure to most solvents.

Instantbond® 109 is a low viscosity, state-of-the-art, single component, solventless, room temperature curing cyanoacrylate adhesive that polymerizes rapidly when pressed into a thin film between parts. The presence of surface moisture commences the cure of the adhesive. Instantbond® 109 develops handling strength within seconds and full functional strength in a few hours. Instantbond® 109 can bond a wide variety of surfaces including thermoplastics, elastomers, ceramics, leather, cork, and paper, but is particularly suited for bonding metal substrates. Notwithstanding the superior bonding capability of Instantbond® 109, it is NOT recommended for long-term glass to glass bonding applications.

Cleaner 62 is a non-aqueous, hydrocarbon based, non-CFC industrial solvent which removes oil and grease completely. This cleaning solvent prepares the surface for bonding with Hernon® Adhesives and Sealants. Cleaner 62 is recommended for final cleaning prior to assembling parts with Hernon® Adhesives and Sealants. It is not recommended for cleaning (flushing) equipment or for cleaning printed circuit boards and printed circuit assemblies.

Primer 57 is a single component, solvent-free, reactive monomer-based product designed to promote the cure speed of Hernon® anaerobic adhesives and sealants. Primer 57 is used where increased cure speed of Hernon® anaerobic products is required, and for difficult to bond applications where galvanized steel or zinc electroplated surfaces are involved. This product was specially formulated for increasing bond integrity on dichromated surfaces.

Tuffbond® 321 is a flexible, low viscosity, general purpose resin system used for casting, potting, and encapsulating of electrical and electronic components. This unique product has been formulated to combine ease in handling with optimum physical, thermal and electrical insulation properties.
