Formulations

Hernon Dissipator 745D is a thermally conductive room temperature cure adhesive that is designed for bonding electrical components to heat sink with a controlled gap. Dissipator 745D, through a special shimming property, insulates the component electrically while allowing thermal conductivity. This special shimming feature produces a constant gap of 0.005 in. to 0.006 in. between components. Product Benefits • No mixing required (eliminates errors in mixing ratio) • Room temperature cure. Hernon® HPS Activator 4322 is used to activate Hernon® Hernon Porosity Sealant (HPS) resins. HPS resins cures to form a thermoset polymer when exposed to elevated temperature. Thermal content and coefficient of thermal transfer in the workpieces influence the cure rate of the HPS system. Higher temperatures produce quicker cure rates. HPS resins generally cures within the range of 177°F (80°C) to 205°F (96°C). Proper cure requires the workpiece to uniformly attain full cure temperature. Parts that do not transfer heat well will required longer processing times. Efficient thermal conductivity yields shorter processing cycles. Parts with heavier cross sections require longer exposure at heat to attain sufficient temperature internally. Carefully consider part geometry. Consult Hernon® Technical Service for specific process requirements.

Hernon® 525 is a pre-applied, micro-encapsulated adhesive for threaded fasteners. Hernon® 525 stays on the bolt until the shearing action of an engaging nut applied to the coated bolt causes the capsules to break allowing the adhesive to cure. This material securely locks and seals against vibration loosening and fluid leakage. Nuts N’ Bolts® 431 is a wicking anaerobic used for preassembled equipment and structures where penetration into fastener connection points is required. This product allows very simple preventive maintenance by permitting thread locking without dismantling equipment. The product “wicks” into voids by capillary action. Use Nuts N’ Bolts® 431 to seal pores or pinhole porosity in welded seams, tanks, castings, or metal parts. The cured adhesive is a thermoset plastic suitable for temperatures up to 400°F (204°C), and exposure to most solvents.

Nuts N’ Bolts® 427 is a single component anaerobic thread locking material, which develops high strength. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces.

Nuts N’ Bolts® 423 is a single component anaerobic thread locking material, which is thixotropic and develops medium strength. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces and is particularly suitable for less active substrates such a stainless steel and plated surfaces.

Supertacker® 67662 is a single component, high performance elastomeric adhesive that exhibits exceptional bonding characteristics to a broad range of materials including metals, glass, plastic composites, rubber, leather, wood and vinyl. Supertacker® 67662 provides a tough, waterproof bond that won’t crack or become brittle.

Cleaner 62 is a non-aqueous, hydrocarbon based, non-CFC industrial solvent which removes oil and grease completely. This cleaning solvent prepares the surface for bonding with Hernon® Adhesives and Sealants. Cleaner 62 is recommended for final cleaning prior to assembling parts with Hernon® Adhesives and Sealants. It is not recommended for cleaning (flushing) equipment or for cleaning printed circuit boards and printed circuit assemblies.

Rust Eliminator 32 is a new revolutionary product for eliminating old rust and preventing new rust on steel parts. Rust is chemically transformed into an inert, non-corrosive coating.

Accelerator 58 is a single component non-CFC solvent-based product, formulated to provide a faster cure on acidic surfaces and cure excess Instantbond? cyanoacrylate adhesive outside the bond line. Accelerator 58 is used to increase the cure speed of Hernon® Instantbond® Adhesives. It is especially suited for post application on exposed Instantbond® adhesive outside of the bond line. Loudspeaker assembly and bonding jewelry are two examples.

Tuffbond® 317 is a two component, room temperature cure system. By changing the ratio of resin and hardener, the cured adhesive can change from a tough and flexible to a hard and rigid system. The resin offers a unique combination of hardness and flexibility with high chemical and solvent resistance. Tuffbond® 317 is recommended for bonding metal, glass, wood, concrete, and rubber, and can be used for potting and encapsulation of electrical and electronic components.

Silastomer® 343 is a black, high performance, single component, ready to use adhesive / sealant. It has a paste-like consistency, which cures to a tough, resilient and durable silicone rubber when exposed to moisture in the air. Designed to provide excellent oil resistance and can be used as a form in place gasket. It will adhere to clean metals, glass, most types of wood, silicone resin, vulcanized silicone rubber, natural and synthetic fiber, ceramic, many plastics and painted surfaces. Silastomer® 343 provides excellent resistance to moisture, weathering, vibration, ozone and extreme temperatures. It can be applied in surface temperatures of 0°F to above 120°F with no loss in performance. Fully cured Silastomer® 343 can withstand extended periods at temperatures up to 400°F.

Dripstop® 947 is a high-performance adhesive/sealant specifically formulated for the sealing and mild locking of hydraulic and pneumatic threaded parts used with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Dripstop® 947 will seal pipe threads, standard nuts and bolts, fittings for hydraulic and pneumatic systems, air conditioners, fittings for refrigeration equipment, and all types of water and chemical processing valves and equipment, including steam up to 350°F. Dripstop® 947 is a single component, thixotropic (non-migrating) anaerobic adhesive/sealant, that does not contain PTFE, and will provide a rapid cure at room temperature. Upon cure, Dripstop® 947 becomes a highly crosslinked thermoset plastic preventing leakage from shock, vibration as well as corrosive liquids and atmospheres.

Nuts N’ Bolts® 428 is a single component anaerobic threadlocking compound designed for heavy duty applications subject to operating temperatures to 450°F (232°C). The product delivers high strength locking and sealing on screws, nuts, bolts, studs and fittings. Excellent break-loose and prevailing torque values assure maximized resistance to transverse vibration loosening at elevated temperatures. Meets requirements of CID A-A-59720 Grade HT

Activator 56 is a single component, non-CFC solvent-based product, designed to promote the cure speed of Hernon® Structural Adhesive/Sealants. Activator 56 is used where increased cure speed of Hernon® anaerobic adhesives and sealants is required. Especially recommended for applications with passive metals, inert surfaces or where large gaps are present.

Cylinlock® 822 is a high performance, single component, 100% active anaerobic adhesive/sealant formulated for dependable bonding of fitted cylindrical parts. Cylinlock® 822 offers high strength as well as superior heat and chemical resistant bonding at room temperature. Cylinlock® 822 is formulated for applications, which require superior strength with temperature resistance up to 300°F (149°C).

Nuts N’ Bolts® 420 is a single component anaerobic thread locking material, which is thixotropic and develops low strength for easy disassembly. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces.

Nuts N' Bolts® 434 is a thixotropic, 100% active anaerobic compound which solidifies with reliable and expected strength upon application to most fasteners. Particularly suitable for applications on less active substrates such as stainless steel and plated surfaces, where disassembly with hand tools is required for servicing. Nuts N' Bolts® 434 is easily applied. No mixing (single component), no curing outside the joint and no torque adjustments are necessary. Nuts N' Bolts® 434 offers increased profitability, having approximately 80% cost advantage over the cheapest mechanical methods as well as reducing inventories, maintenance, and the need for costly precision tolerances. Nuts N' Bolts® 434 can be used on up to 3/4inch bolts with light oil contamination.

Primer 49 is a single component, non-CFC solvent based product designed to promote the cure speed of Hernon® anaerobic adhesives and sealants. Primer 49 is used where increased cure speed of Hernon® anaerobic adhesives and sealants is required. It is especially recommended for applications with passive metals or inert surfaces and with large bond gaps. It is particularly recommended for cure conditions below 15°C. Primer 49 meets the requirements of MIL-S-22473E (Grade T) and ASTM D5363 (Grade T).

HASA 716 is a single component structural anaerobic adhesive formulated for bonding rigid assemblies at high temperatures. This high strength acrylic adhesive cures when it is confined between mating surfaces. Utilized for bonding magnets in motor assemblies and structural applications, HASA 716 provides a strong permanent bond and is resistant to impact and vibration. Hernon Primer 50 accelerates the cure. HASA 716 is similar in function to Loctite A533 and Loctite AA332 and delivers high shear strength and tensile strength. One of its primary uses is securing permanent magnets in motor magnet bonding applications.
